The Senior Stores & Logistics Executive is responsible for managing warehouse operations, inventory control, material receipt and dispatch, logistics coordination, and ensuring accurate stock records. The role focuses on maintaining optimal inventory levels, timely movement of materials, compliance with company procedures, and continuous improvement in store and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
Stores Management
- Manage daily store operations, including receiving, storage, and issuance of materials.
- Ensure proper material identification, segregation, and storage practices.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular stock verification and cycle counting.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement for replenishment.
- Ensure implementation of FIFO, FEFO, and inventory control procedures where applicable.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate stock records in ERP/SAP or inventory management systems.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Conduct periodic physical stock audits and reconciliation.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory.
Logistics & Dispatch Management
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities.
- Plan and monitor dispatch schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Coordinate with transporters, freight providers, and logistics partners.
- Track shipments and resolve transportation-related issues.
- Ensure proper documentation for dispatches and deliveries.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Notes), delivery challans, invoices, and dispatch records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and statutory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory and logistics.
Team Coordination
- Supervise store personnel and assign daily tasks.
- Train and guide junior store and logistics staff.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Quality, and Finance departments for smooth operations.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse utilization and logistics efficiency.
- Implement best practices to reduce inventory losses and transportation costs.
- Support digitalization and automation initiatives in stores and logistics functions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
- Additional certifications in Materials Management, Logistics, SAP, or Inventory Management are preferred.
Experience
- 4- 6 years of experience in Stores, Warehouse Management, Inventory Control, and Logistics Operations.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred.
